When our inspector, Phil Matthews showed up to take a look at this Somerset, OH crawl space, he found a few issues that needed addressing. Phil explained to the homeowner that the amount of ventilation in his crawl space was sucking outside air and pulling it up through the house. With the warm, humid days we have here in the summer all the moisture in the air is being pulled into the home, creating the perfect environment for mold. In addition to the moisture, Phil also found that the foundation was in need of support in a few areas.
Per Phil's recommendaiton, Foreman Miguel Inguil and his crew sealed the crawl space using SilverGlo Insulation and CleanSpace Vapr Barrier. This will keep the crawlspace dry. The team also installed SmartJacks around the crawl space to add support to the foundation.

This old sump pump was no match for the heavy rains that recently hit the area. This basement flooded, and the homeowners called us to help prevent this from happening again. Our crews installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement, as well as a brand new battery backup system for the Sump Pump.
A homeowner in Gambier, OH called Mid-State Basement Systems because he had a cellar that was always wet, had a sagging ceiling, and had crumbling foundation walls. Our certified inspector, John Tongol, inspected the cellar and proposed a total solution to repair the walls and get rid of the water. The homeowner agreed to have this work completed and our crew, led by foreman Valentin Rosales, came out to install the products. They installed SmartJacks to jack up the ceiling of the cellar to keep the floor above from collapsing. They also installed some subfloor drains and finished by encapsulating the whole area in CleanSpace vapor barrier.
This wall had a severe horizontal crack and was causing the wall to bow. The PowerBrace consists of steel I-beams that are secured to the joists above the wall with steel brackets. This system is easily adjustable, allowing for tightening of the brace to attempt to raise the wall back to its original position. This system doesn't involve any exterior excavation and installs quickly with minimal disruption to your basement space.
