With a wall slowly caving in, the basement of this home needed serious foundation repair. The homeowner called Mid-State Basement Systems for a solution.
We installed the PowerBrace Foundation Wall Support System. This wall support process involves steel beams being anchored down underground beyond the house’s base. A trench is dug for the anchoring and the steel beams are then cinched to the wall. These beams can be adjusted over time to continue to straighten the wall.
CarbonArmor uses fiber-reinforced polymers which are 10-times stronger than steel, yet flexible enough to contour tightly against your basement wall. The ArmorLock brackets bind and secure the CarbonArmor straps to your floor joists making the CarbonArmor solution fast, non-invasive and ideal for quickly stabilizing bowing and leaning walls.
This basement wall has developed a large horizontal crack—a common sign of bowing due to external soil pressure. As the foundation walls weaken, they start to push inward, compromising the home's structural integrity. Without reinforcement, the wall could continue to bow and eventually fail. Our team installed static beams to stabilize the wall and prevent further movement, ensuring the long-term safety of this home.
In Westerville, OH, we tackled large, unsettling cracks in their basement walls. As seen in the before photo, these cracks threatened the home's structural integrity. Our solution? Carbon Armor. The after photo showcases the seamless integration of this robust fix, blending almost invisibly with the existing foundation to ensure a safe, stable, and worry-free environment
Foundation walls begin to buckle, bow, or tilt inward from outside pressure from soil and water and can eventually cause foundation walls to collapse. The PowerBrace system is designed to stabilize failing basement walls and can help straighten them over time.
