Ensuring Stability: Foundation Repair in Plain City, OH
Challenge
Homeowners in Plain City, OH, grew increasingly concerned when they began noticing signs of foundation settling, such as their front door sticking and cracks appearing both inside and outside their home. Recognizing the urgency, they reached out to us, and Corey Froelich, one of our trained inspectors, conducted a thorough assessment. He discovered that the left side slab of the home's addition had settled.
The homeowners' primary goal was to restore the solidity of their foundation. However, the project came with a few challenges. Some concrete needed to be carefully cut and removed to install the helical piers. Additionally, there was a fence near the repair site, and the crew had to coordinate with landscapers and concrete professionals after completing the job to ensure the property was restored to its optimal condition.
Despite these challenges, the team successfully stabilized the foundation, providing the homeowners with peace of mind and a solid home once again.
Solution
Foreman Nate Hammond and his piering crew took charge of the installation, placing 10 helical piers at an approximate depth of 20-30 feet into the bedrock to stabilize the foundation. These piers, equipped with plates, pull into the soil during installation and provide anchoring strength as the weight of the foundation or structural element is transferred to the pier.
Despite the challenges, the team successfully completed the project in just three days, stabilizing the foundation and providing the homeowners with peace of mind and a solid home once again.
