Mid-State Basement Systems Featured on NBC4

On August 18, 2022, NBC4 welcomed our managing owner, Wes Martin, onto the Daytime Columbus to talk about our products and how we can help you with all things basement in the central Ohio area! The interviewer, Robyn Haines, mentioned that many people think basements are just supposed to smell musty, but that's not the case. On this topic, Martin said, "Yeah. I mean, people go to their homes and they think this is their safe place. Where they can have their kids there breathing and living. And in some ways, it's not so safe."

He's referring to the mold and moisture that causes this musty smell. Due to the stack effect, all the odors, spores, etc. in the basement and crawl space of a home rise like heat throughout the upper levels.

He discussed the five ways we have to repair and support foundation issues in a home and the benefits of encapsulating a crawl space.

Haines said because of these products and our ways of installation, "I love that it's more functional and that it's safer for my family, but you guys also are really good about just making it look like a better space than when you left it."
